Welcome to the KwendyHome 2022 Christmas tour! We’re so happy to have you here. I’m so excited to show you around. Come on in!

I wish we could hang out in person together but this seems to be the next best thing. I hope you enjoy your stay here! All photography by the amazing Janet Kwan.

I tried to link as much of the decor as I can. Please note that I earn a small commission if you purchase off my links at no cost to you!

The Entryway

We start off in our entry where you’re greeted with a sparkly letter garland from K and my first Christmas together. It was the only decor we bought that year and I still debated. And now every year, I pull it out no matter how bedraggled it has gotten.

I like to keep a big basket near the front door to collect all the inevitable clutter like packages, scarves, mitts and hats. It compliments the scalloped rug we have here so nicely.

There’s not a lot of Christmas decor happening but I hung two wreaths with a simple striped ribbon here.

Paper bag snowflakes are a staple in this home. I love creating a winter wonderland with the snowflakes decorated across the staircase because it’s an affordable yet impactful way to decorate.

You can dress it up with greenery from your back yard and drape fairy lights all over it for an extra touch of magic.

Check out my Paperbag Snowflake Tutorial for full details on how to create your own beautiful snowflakes!

Laundry Room/ Mud Room

Our laundry room is also our mud room so I wanted to bring in some cheer to the space seeing as it’s the entrance we use. I kept it pretty simple with a garland, nutcrackers and tin houses. Just enough to allude to Christmas without being too much hassle to take down after the holidays.

I used the same basket as the entry way here but in a smaller size. I like using the same element in the form of a basket to help tie the rooms together.

I loved making this Christmas tree have a woodland and cottage feel using Paper Mache Mushrooms and Pom Pom Garlands!

In the front room I decided to introduce more colour this year and chose a woodland theme. The DIY paper mache mushrooms are so cheery and homey. Plus the Pom Poms make great filler ornaments that don’t break the bank. Home made ornaments are so cozy and sentimental. I’m glad I could include more of it here.

I really wanted a Christmas tree in this front bay window last year and late December, K and I decided to buy one last minute! 'It makes me so happy. But the secret is… the other side of this Christmas tree is a completely different look!

I didn’t make enough mushrooms so the other side is way more neutral hahahaha!

I kept the starts all white in this room- some were DIYS and others were from IKEA and Crate and Barrel two years ago. I kept the snowflake and star motif going throughout the home.

K’s Bar Shelf

This year, I was able to gift K a office makeover and as a result this shelf was moved into the from room. To his delight, I turned it into a bar shelf! I think he likes it better than the office makeover if I’m being very honest.

Sadly, that shelf is no longer available.

Dining Room

These Stargazer Lights are my pride and joy this holiday. I’ve always wanted them since seeing it on @astoldbymichelle and @reserve_home ‘s account, but always skipped because they were an investment (aka pricey).

But I finally bought them this year and my goodness, I get the hype and why they are so pricey. There are so many light bulbs per inch of garland!!! I swear there’s at least ten bulbs every inch of the garland you go. And the glow is so warm and bright. We don’t even turn on the dining table lights above when they’re on.

I hung little paper snowflake ornaments here that allude to the front room’s paper stars to tie it all in.

Bellewood Wallpaper

I have to spotlight this lovely corner because we put up the wallpaper in November and it looks so so pretty. I was wondering how this forest scape would look as a backdrop to the Christmas decor but turns out it looks amazing. Plus, it leads to our woodland themed front room.

I’ve been using my floating centrepiece DIY for every season and reason because it looks so so nice! It’s the star of the dining room if I do say so myself. And I get to change it up and customize it however I want.

There’s a little nook in my dining room that we decorated this summer and it’s one of my favourite purchases of 2022! The Gallery Wall turned out better than I expected, now I need to find some more beautiful artwork to fill it with. If you’re interested In how I installed my gallery wall, check this out!

Christmas Hutch

This hutch was a Facebook Marketplace find that my sister and brother in law helped me haul back to the city. I think it warms up the dining room quite nicely and helps tie it with the kitchen.

We stripped it down and I filled it with little bottle brush trees. It use to house all the wine glasses and spirits. But now with the “Bar Shelf” in the front room, I’m free to fill this up with whatever my heart’s desires.

And I’m thinking I need to start collecting more Santa mugs!

Kitchen

We’re finally in the heart of the home, the kitchen. I kept it simple here with some greenery and more paper snowflakes and stars. I mixed some brown DIY ones and some white ones from IKEA. The brown paper bag snowflakes tie nicely with the kitchen island stools.

I’ve also been using more moss this year. You saw it in the front room as a tree skirt, and in the dining room as a table runner and now in the kitchen as the ground covering of the little Christmas village.

And of course, Gus Gus needs his own mention. Our in house mouse chef that was introduced to my life this summer. I’ve been adding to his kitchen and his family too.

There’s some more mushroom ornaments sprinkled in the kitchen too that echos the front room paper mache ornaments.

Another favourite item on my list are the new tin house this year, I have the small and large! Putting my Vitruvi diffuser inside makes it look like smoke coming out of a chimney. It’s so charming and adorable! I’m obsessed.

Ahhh we’re almost at the end of this Christmas tour. Let’s end in the family room by the fireplace.

I really went hard with the paper snowflakes and stars this year and I hung them almost like an arch above the fireplace. This also ties in with the front room with the woodland theme. I love how it turned out.

Fun fact: I imagined myself as a shopkeeper decorating a store front when I put this together!
