Another favorite slider is using leftover turkey made in a roaster on this Shredded Chicken Sliders and adding barbecue sauce, cheese and bacon bits.

Why This Recipe Works:

  • Sliders make portion control is much better for a family. The kids like one slider and the adults like two or three.
  • Lunchmeat sliders are so easy to customize. Onions can easily be added or cheese can be left off.
  • Baked turkey sliders on Kings Hawaiian rolls are irresistible – the kids don’t fight about having to eat them! Meals that keep peace at the table make life easier.
  • Leftover turkey after the holidays tastes great in this slider recipe!
  • Sliders are popular and you can find sweet Hawaiian rolls in almost every grocery store. We love the Kings Hawaiian brand, but if there is a cheaper option or bigger roll we buy that one.
  • Extra Hawaiian roll turkey sliders reheat well the next day for a quick lunch or snack.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Hawaiian Rolls – Kings Hawaiian brand are very popular, but usually 1/2 ounce smaller than other brands.
  • Turkey – We typically use thin slices of lunchmeat. To use shredded turkey tear or chop into small pieces for best results.
  • Ranch Dressing – An optional layer of goodness and extra herb flavor.
  • Cheddar Cheese – I like white cheddar, but yellow is fine too. Slices can be easier to use but shredded works fine.
  • Bacon Bits – The smoky meat provides a nice accent to turkey.
  • Butter – Helps spread the other glaze ingredients over top of the rolls and adds a nice richness.
  • Brown Sugar – Sweetens the little sandwiches.
  • Poppy Seeds – Diversity in flavor that is highly recognizable in party sliders.
  • Dijon Mustard – An optional addition that half of our family loves.
  • Worcestershirse Sauce – Creates a deeper flavor in a nice thin layer of glaze.

Tips for Making Easy Turkey & Cheese Sliders

  • Foil is really helpful since the glaze has a good bit of sugar and can easily burn on the baking dish
  • Leftover turkey can easily be used, just make sure there is an even layer
  • Sliced or shredded cheese can be used, I find sliced cheese as it is easier and faster to use
  • We like to use bacon bits, if using strips of bacon then chop it up so the sliders can be more easily cut after baking
  • Sliders will be easier to eat after letting rest for about 10 minutes after baking
  • Use a board scraper or long serrated knife to cut sandwiches
  • Use a long bread knife to slice slider rolls in half before baking
  • Sometimes the cheaper Hawaiian rolls are really small. If it’s just our family eating them it’s not a big deal. But if we’re making party food to share we usually like the bigger, fluffier name brand rolls.

Can These Be Made Ahead?

Sliders can be assembled, covered and refrigerated up to a day ahead of baking. This includes covering with the glaze.

I was surprised to find that the quality is the same as making them fresh as long as the ingredients don’t dry out in the refrigerator.

Remove the baking pan from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before baking before placing in a preheated oven. Or place the cold dish in a cold oven to allow the dish to warm up more slowly as the oven heats.

More Sandwich & Slider Recipes We Love

We have a few sandwich recipes that we love like Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes, and Sloppy Janes made with ground turkey.

Just like our Air Fryer Pizza Sliders and Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders we prefer this recipe fresh, but they can be reheated too! We often make extra and reheat the leftovers in our air fryer toaster oven. Sure, the quality of a sandwich decreases a bit but we still enjoy them.
