Summer Palace (Main Dining Room)

The Summer Palace Dining Room (aft of deck 7 with seating 554 guests) is open for Breakfast (7.00am to 9.00am) and Dinner (5pm to 9.30pm), and is one of the ship's two main dining rooms serving a multi-course menu of freshly prepared cuisine.

All dining on Norwegian Cruise Lines are freestyle (no fixed times or pre-assigned seating).

Breakfast offerings include eggs cooked to order, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, sausages and bacon.

The menu for dinner offers a choice of two options, one being Classic Selections which are served everyday such as Mexican Mushroom and Cheese Tortilla Crisp, Garden Fresh Salad or Onion Soup for starters, mains of Grilled New York Strip Steak, Braised Lamb Shank and Penne Pasta and desserts ranging from Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake to Cheesecake or Bread and Butter Pudding.

The second option on the menu is the chef’s signature specialities which change daily with dishes such as Prosciutto with Melon and Figs or Black Bean Soup, Grilled Sirloin Steak or Poached Cod and Lemon and Ginger Custard or Carrot Cake to finish.

Indigo (Main Dining Room)

Indigo is the ship's second main dining room open for dinner only from 5.30pm to 10pm and seating 108 guests.

Located midship on deck 6, the menu is the same as Summer Palace with dishes such as Broccoli Soup, Sea Scallops or Greek Salad for starters, Baked Chicken Breast or grilled New York Strip Steak for mains and Carrot Cake or Cheesecake for dessert. The Daily menu includes a selection of healthy light choices.

Le Bistro (French)

Le Bistro, located on deck 6, is the ship's additional charge reservation only French dining option with paintings adorning the walls and serving both modern classical and contemporary French fare.

Open from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, a cover charge of $20 per person applies to this 129 seater restaurant (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kid’s speciality menu). Reservations can be made either at the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Menu examples are as follows:

Appetisers, Soups and Salads: Grilled Asparagus, Escargots in Garlic Herb Butter, Cream of Four Mushroom Soup

Meats & Seafood: Salmon Fillet, Grilled Swordfish, Coq au Vin, Grilled Beef Tenderloin

Desserts: Profiteroles, Crème Brûlée, Ice Cream, Crepes Suzette.

Bistro Specials are also available for an additional $10 per person charge as follows:
Fruits de Mer, 32oz Premium Golden Angus Rib Eye Steak and Butter Roasted Lobster Tail.

During the day Le Bistro hosts wine and cheese tastings (fees apply).

La Cucina (Italian)

La Cucina is a traditional Italian restaurant serving pasta with a choice of seven different sauces, fresh crispy salads, pizza, Italian desserts, a fine wine list and espresso, cappuccino, latte or mocha drinks to round off the meal. (Coffee is additional charge from $1.50 for a small espresso to $2.75 for mocha).

The restaurant seats 104 guests within its casual atmosphere and opens from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, with reservations recommended and a cover charge of $10 per guests (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kid’s speciality menu). Reservations can be made either at the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Le Cucina can be found aft of deck 12 and examples of dishes on the menu are as follows:

Appetisers of fried calamari and Carpaccio of beef tenderloin

Mains of pizza, pasta, risotto, seared salmon or rib eye steak

24/7 Pizza (Italian)

Pizza 24/7 is the ship's 24 hour pizza delivery service delivering homemade 16 inch stone baked pizza direct to guests' table, stateroom or favourite lounge or bar. A $5 delivery charge is applicable.

Guests can choose from Mozzarella Cheese and Tomato, Pepperoni or Vegetarian with roasted peppers, mushrooms and red onions.

Lotus Garden (Asian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese)

Offering a taste of Asia, Lotus Garden is Norwegian Pearl’s Pan Asian restaurant serving Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine. Located on deck 7, midship, Lotus Garden can accommodate 108 guests and with a cover charge of $15 per person (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kid’s speciality menu), opens for dinner from 5.30pm to 10.00pm with reservations recommended. Reservations can be made either at the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Examples of dishes served are as follows:

Appetisers: Vegetable Dumplings, Crispy Crab Wontons, Barbecue Pork Spare Ribs.

Soups and Salads: Hot and Sour Soup, Shrimp Salad

Noodles and Rice: Singapore Noodles and Cantonese Vegetable Chow Fun

Entrees: Spicy Fish, Cantonese Scallops, Sweet and Sour Pork, Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Stir-Fried Lobster Tail (this option costs a further $10 on top of the cover charge).

Desserts: Oriental Crème Brûlée, Five Spice Chocolate Cake, Warm Banana Pancakes

Teppanyaki (Asian, Japanese)

Teppanyaki on deck 7 midship (seating up to 32 guests at a time) within Lotus Garden opens for dinner with seatings at 6pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 9pm and 9.30pm and invites guests to sit around the central cooking area for an Asian dining experience where they watch the chefs show off their skills slicing and dicing whilst preparing meat, poultry, fish and vegetables on an iron “Teppan” griddle.

The menu starts with Miso soup and Seaweed Salad with Ginger Dressing before guests select from either classics such as Chicken Yakiudon, Filet Mignon or Vegetable, or combinations such as Samurai and Shinto. Garlic fried rice and Teppanyaki vegetables accompany these dishes followed by dessert of either Green Tea Cake with Cashew Nut Brittle or Fresh Fruit Sashimi.

The cost to dine here is $25 per head (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kids speciality menu) and reservations are recommended and can be made 24 hours prior to dining at the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Shabu-Shabu (Asian)

Available within the Lotus Garden on deck 7 are some tables reserved for Norwegian Pearl’s Shabu-Shabu. Priced at $15 per person and available from 5.30pm until close, guests (minimum of two people) can choose from either the Shabu-Shabu option or the Noodle Bar option.

The Shabu-Shabu selection (so called due to the cooking method of ingredients being swished back and forth in a pot of aromatic broth) includes:

Thinly Sliced Sirloin Beef and Tofu
Bok Choy with Cabbage, Onions and Carrots
sh*take Mushrooms and Enoki Mushrooms
Peanut Sauce and Ponzu Sauce

The Noodle Bar option is a traditional soup pot of Ginger Chicken Breast with Chicken Breast served with the following choices:

Rice Noodles, Udon Noodles, Shanghai Noodles or Rice Vermicelli
Vegetable Dumplings, Pork Dumplings or Shrimp Wantons
Watercress, Bok Choy, Snow Peas, Fresh Mushrooms or Broccoli

Both choices also include Steamed Edamame, Chilled Seaweed Salad and a choice of Mochi Ice Cream or Fresh Fruit Sashimi for dessert.

Noodle Bar (Asian)

An à la carte Noodle Bar (open from 5.30pm to midnight) is located by the Sushi Bar within Lotus Garden midship of deck 7, where guests can select what items they want and how many on the menus provided which are then delivered to their table.

The noodle bar offers the following options (subject to change):-

Dim Sum: Pork ($3.50), Shrimp ($3.75) or Vegetable Spring Roll ($3.25)

Noodle from the Wok: Singapore Noodles ($4.50), Peking Shrimp & Chicken ($5.00), Beef Chow Fun ($4.50)

Noodles in Broth: Char Sui with Rice Noodles ($4.50), Spicy Seafood Noodles ($5.50), Glass Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables ($4.50)

Fried Rice: Vegetarian Fried Rice ($3.50), Shrimp Fried Rice ($4.00), Combination Fried Rice ($4.25)

Desserts: Chilled Mango Pudding ($2.50), Five Spice Chocolate Cake ($2.50)

Sushi & Sashimi Bar (Japanese)

The Sushi and Sashimi Bar (seating 10 guests) is located within Lotus Garden on deck 7 and open from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, serving Japanese sushi and sashimi expertly prepared as guests watch.

With an à la carte charge, prices range from $2.25 to $2.75 for two pieces of sushi, $3 to $4.50 for four pieces of sashimi, and between $3.00 and $4.50 for rolls.

Alternatively guests can opt for a sushi and sashimi combo. The Diamond selection costs $12 for a tuna sashimi, rainbow roll, prawn sashimi and California roll whilst the Ruby package (also $12) comprises of big eye tuna sashimi, octopus sushi, an eel, avocado and cucumber roll and a barbequed eel, yellowtail and avocado roll.

Moderno Churrascaria (South American)

A recent addition to Norwegian Pearl (replacing Mambo’s Tex Mex) and located midship on deck 8 of the ship, the Moderno Churrascaria serves succulent skewers of barbecued meats which are carved tableside. Guests control how much they want with their green and red card, green means the carving continues and red is shown to indicate when guests are full.

Moderno serves signature cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken along with rice, black beans, mashed potatoes and sweet fried bananas on the side, a selection of salads, Brazilian cheese bread and desserts including coconut flan, papaya crème and mango rice pudding.

With seating for 146 guests and a cover charge of $20 per person (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kids speciality menu), the venue opens for dinner only from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, with reservations recommended via the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Cagney's (Seafood, Steak House)

Cagney’s is the ship's upscale traditional steakhouse with a 1930’s style theme, seating 168 diners and located midship on deck 13 with a cover charge of $30 per person (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kids speciality menu).

Open for dinner only from 5.30pm to 10.00pm, Cagney’s is a reservation only restaurant. Reservations can be made either at the reservations desk on deck 7 in the Crystal Atrium where menus are displayed or via the reservations phone number.

Cagney’s menu selections begin with starters such as shrimp co*cktail or oysters, soups and salads including lobster bisque and Caesar salad, mains of 10oz New York Strip steaks, Salmon Oscar or vegetarian saffron casserole amongst other dishes with the option of 6oz lobster tails (surcharge of $8 each), sides ranging from baked potatoes to steamed asparagus and fries with white truffle oil and parmesan cheese and desserts including raspberry crème brûlée and warm espresso chocolate brownies served with macadamia ice cream.

Additionally Cagney’s opens for suite guests for breakfast (from 7.30am to 9.30am) serving the likes of fresh fruit juices, waffles with fresh berries, buttermilk hot cakes, smoked salmon frittata, steak and eggs, Danish pastries and muffins and lunch from 12.00pm to 1.30pm.

Blue Lagoon (Self Service)

The Blue Lagoon Restaurant, located on deck 8 midship overlooking the Crystal Atrium, with seating for 98 guests, is Norwegian Pearl’s 24 hour Food Court and is the ideal place to grab a quick snack from within the family friendly atmosphere.

The restaurants serves an Express Breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, choice of Danish pastries and either tea or coffee. Alternatively the following options are available for guests to select from:

Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate
Sweet Bran or Fruit Muffins, Assorted Pastries, Croissant’s and Cinnamon Rolls
Wholemeal or White Toast
Omelette with a choice of fillings

For the remainder of the day options range from burgers, fish and chips, salads, fries and buffalo chicken wings to tomato soup, beef burgers and New York Cheesecake.

Topsiders Grill

The Grill, located midship deck 12 poolside by Topsiders Bar, opens from 7.30am to 10.00am for breakfast snacks (such as omelettes, pastries and cereal).

Pool Deck BBQ

Lunch

Weather permitting, the Norwegian Pearl hosts poolside barbecues with freshly cooked meats, salads etc. from around 11.30pm to 2.00pm at the opposite end to Topsiders Bar. The BBQ offers a different theme each day such as a taste of India brunch or Mexican style chilli con carne with fresh corn tortillas.

Garden Cafe (Self Service)

The Garden Cafe (seating 390 guests) on deck 12 midship is the ship's buffet restaurant offering a family-friendly menu from 6am to 9.30pm.

An Early Risers breakfast is available between 6.00am and 7.00am followed by a breakfast buffet from 6.30am to 10.30am with options including items such as fruit juice, fresh fruit, muffins and pastries, cereals, pancakes, waffles, bacon, baked beans, sausages, cold cuts, pancakes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

A Lunch Buffet is served from 11.30am to 3.00pm, and a Dinner Buffet from 5.00pm to 9.30pm.
Food on offer ranges from crepes and omelette’s with fillings of your choice to cooked to order pasta, sandwiches, soups, themed buffets, a carvery and desserts including a self serve ice cream station.

The cafe also features the Kid’s Cafe (with 52 seats) in one corner with special chairs and tables at children’s height and their own menu selections.

Special themed buffets are held in the Garden Cafe such as Norwegian’s Chocolate Buffet as well as family activities such as cupcake decorating and pizza making.

Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors, aft of deck 12 offers a buffet breakfast (from 7.30am to 11.00am) and snacks between 3.00pm and 5.30pm and 9.30pm to 10.30pm.

Food on offer is very similar to the Garden Cafe although with a more limited choice. Breakfast options include French toast, bagels, waffles and omelettes.

It can seat up to 228 guests.

Presumed Murdered Lunch

Once per cruise, Norwegian Pearl holds a “Presumed Murdered Lunch” for around 80 guests at a charge of $20 per person (reservations required). Entertainment is provided by “The Second City” cast who teamed up with crime novelist Scott Turow to create a hilarious who-done-it murder mystery where guests try and find the killer whilst enjoying a set three course lunch (usually a salad to start, chicken or salmon main course and a chocolate based dessert).

Norwegian Chef's Table

The Chef's Table dining experience features a nine-course, upscale menu consisting of unique and contemporary creations using the highest quality ingredients and sophisticated cooking techniques. Each course is accompanied by wines that are specially paired by a Master Sommelier.

The two-and-a-half hour experience starts with a reception where guests enjoy a glass of champagne with the ship's Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Director, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Maître d' and Head Wine Steward. Guests are then invited to take a group photo before sitting down to begin their meal in an intimate restaurant setting. The Executive Chef describes the first two courses: an Amuse Bouche
‘Molecular Gastronome' consisting of Spherical Mango, Vodka & Jalapeno Ravioli and an Orange-Wasabi Glazed Ahi Tuna Tartar with freshly-baked Sesame Crisp.

Courses one and two are accompanied by the Master Sommelier's paired wine selection. Asparagus Cream is served for course three, followed by the fourth course, a Short Crust Tartlet and Grapefruit and Moscato Granite is served as course number five. As the Executive Chef describes the ingredients and technique used to create the courses, the second wine selection is served and guests are invited to ask questions about the dishes.

The sixth course comprises of a Plantain- Crusted, Pan Seared Sea Bass accompanied by Mango, Papaya & Avocado Salsa and Lobster Veloute and a Milk-Fed Veal Chop with Anna Potatoes, Sautéed Spinach and Truffle Veal Jus is served for course number seven. A cheese platter filled with an assortment of gourmet cheeses is served as course eight and course nine, dessert, offers a choice of either a Yogurt-Mousse Dome with Lychee Raspberry Crème, Hazel Sablee and Lime Vanilla Reduction; or a Chocolate Log with 'Spiced' Dark Rum, Infused Banana and Cocoa Mousse.

This dining experience has a cover charge of $89 per person, including gratuities, a behind-the-scenes galley tour, one group photo and an individual photo with the Executive Chef. The Chef's Table is limited to 12 guests per experience and is offered once per cruise.

24 Hour Room Service

Complimentary room service is available throughout the day and night although between midnight and 5am a delivery charge of $3.95 applies (guests ordering only pizza or beverages won’t be charged as they are charged for their order instead).

Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10am via the Room Service Breakfast Order Form, whilst items such as Chicken Soup, Greek Salad, Sandwiches, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Omelettes, Cheesecake and Fruit Plates can be ordered 24 hours a day.

Children’s selections are also available such as Chicken Fingers, Macaroni Cheese and Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches (all served with carrot sticks and potato chips), Cookies, Brownies and Ice Cream.

Kid's Menu

The Kid’s menu is available in all restaurants including the speciality ones (for which there is no charge).

Norwegian Cruise Line has recently introduced a new Specialty Dining Package called "Signature Trio," that enables guests to pre-purchase three specialty restaurants: the steakhouse, French bistro and Italian restaurant, prior to sailing at a special rate of $57 per person (saving $8 per person).
