Sutfin of Zion United Church of Christ performed the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony in the presence of 100 wedding guests. The bride is the daughter of Arden and Percilla Bawkey of Alanson and Robert and Toni Wojichowski of Detroit. The groom's mother is Mrs. Shirley Pemberton of Petoskey.
His father is the late James E. Pemberton. The bride was escorted to the altar by her stepfather and father, Arden J. Bawkey and Robert S. Wojichowski.
For her wedding, she chose a white asymmetrical crepe gown with a V-neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. Handbeaded lace accented the empire waistline and court train. Her waist length veil was attached to a beaded headband, and she carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, white roses, baby's breath and ivy accented with greens. Organist was Martha Sutfin and vocalist was Joni Vermeer. Jill Reynolds served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Bawkey Saraf, Tina Balchut and Tari Schlappi. The bridal attendants wore ruby satin tea length gowns with lace overlays, and carried colonial bouquets of alstroemeria. Melissa Pemberton was the flower girl. She wore a tea length white brocade satin dress. Nicholas Pemberton was the ring bearer.
Steve Baker served as best man, and groomsmen Theaker Miller Karen Theaker and Mike Miller were married Oct. 7 at Trinity Fellowship Church in Boyne City. The pews were adorned with crinkle ribbon bows as pastor Paul Wise performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Barbara Theaker of Boyne City. The groom's mother is Margaret Blackburn of Boyne City.
The bride's cousin, Barbara Kusmierski, played the organ and Kevin Theaker, brother of the bride, sang "The Wedding Song." The bride wore a white satin dress embellished with sequins featuring puffed sleeves accented with bows, and a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies, alstroemeria and blue tipped miniature carnations. Maid of honor was Leslie Reinhardt, and bridesmaids were Holly Setterington; Beth Cooper; Checotah Theaker, sister-in-law of the bride; Emily Blackburn, sister of the groom; and Connie Snover. The bridal attendants wore navy blue satin and lace tea length dresses, and carried heart shaped grapevine wreaths. Best man was Tony Napont, and groomsmen were Kevin Beebe, Kyle Fitzpatrick, Don Hull, Bill Wicker and Eric Wilcox.

Helping seat the wedding guests were Drew Fennell, Matthew Pemberton and Arden Bawkey. A reception was held at the V.F.W. hall on West Conway Road, given by the bride and groom with assistance from Arden and Percilla Bawkey, Lin and Gary Macintosh, Mary Riley and Susan Behan. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by Arden and Percilla Bawkey, was held July 21 at the V.F.W. hall.

8, meeting of the Harbor Springs Women's Club. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. at Birchwood Inn on M-119. Following the business meeting and program, an auction will be held before lunch. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, known as D.A.R.E., is taught to fifth-graders at both elementary schools in Harbor Springs, with visitation in kindergarten through fourth-grade.
The 17-week program is held several hours each week, and students are awarded prizes, T-shirts, work books and certificates. Members of the Harbor Springs Women's Club are encouraged to bring a friend and a lunch for the auction. Proceeds from the auction will go toward community projects such as the D.A.R.E. program. Guests are welcome to attend.
Mothers, Others meet Tuesday Holly Bazaire will talk about textured painting at the Mothers and Others meeting to be held 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Petoskey United Methodist Church.
