MSRP $100, expect it to be bumped to $120-ish by TRU though.

Most of the time, If I was to see something like this in retail I wouldn't even think about grabbing 2 but man..I'm thinking about changing that thought process.. Looks great..

edit: Just noticed on the front of the box is says "Biggest autobot ever"..Maybe a trypticon in the future?

So i have a question for those that have played F.o.C, if this what will be out for retail, and there are speculations saying the SDCC exclusive is a F.o.C game accurate Metroplex, what would be changed regarding colors? Now personally i'm still in the Metrotitan boat, but i would like to hear other opinions.

I totally agree, I think HasTak would be fools not to release an equvalent to Metroplex if not Trypticon then someone damn it! Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (14) I would have thought it would have been packaged in a platic mold/tray like Year of the Snake Omega.

What I wanna know is how many pieces in a box to retial...2 perhaps? Lets not forget the b^stard scalpers that will take every one off the shelf each time. Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (15)

Yeah... if Metro goes for around $100-20, and we all agree he's worth more than that, then it's a sure thing that the prospectors will grab him and toss him on eBay instantly! Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (17)

Did any of you guys try and grab that weekend Pikachu 3DS XL???? Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (18) It was amazing to see how quick they hit eBay!!! It's so sad to see so many people willfully ruin children's Easters/Birthdays/childhoods/etc.

I don't see TRU carrying too many, as this will be a LARGE item. That said... man... I'm very nervous to see how this will play out...

Then again, that GIANT MILLENNIUM FALCON just sits on the shelves at TRU... Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (19) But considering how many Falcon's we've already seen at retail, and this being the first G1 Metro since 198x... I'm sure this Metroplex figure will be available to all the diehard collectors through the many sites that will have this for peeorder. So you should be able to get one if you pay attention and look out for when the preorders start.

Unless you can't afford the 120 $ and you are waiting for it to go on sale or don't want to pay the 10 $ shipping charge, good luck with that.

And just seeing the word Pikachu in this discussion which is about the big boys titan class Metroplex makes me dizzy and light headed, just gross.

This toy would not work for FOC Metroplex since FOC Metroplex has a significantly different body shape and appearance. Though both he and this toy are homages/modern updates to the G1 Metroplex design, they both resemble G1 Metroplex in very different ways. So much so they'd be better off making a whole new toy for FOC Metroplex.

To answer the question posed, it'll be a lot more medium-dark grey than white/light grey.

Ah dark gray, that makes a world of difference, I think. Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (28)

Anyhow, to touch on what Sabrblade said, I do agree that while this figure is metroplex, its not F.o.C metroplex; which would make it all the more disappointing if the SDCC exclusive is metroplex in f.o.c colors rather than a counter part's (like metrotitan).

I don't know about the TRU's near you, but (other than masterpiece figures) all of the large scale toys just warm the shelves for a long long time. Like the most recent vader transformer, the chewy/solo falcon.. Both of the huge stupid looking movie bumblebees (sorry, "ultimate" is not a good word for that toy), the most recent unicron sat for a long long time..

Even large, non transforming toys sit for a while.. Like the stupid robot (kinda), talking bane, batman, iron man, and now superman..

and not only do these things not sell, but there are a bunch of them taking up lots of space.

Hopefully TRU doesn't start learning from its mistakes, and starts cutting orders of this thing because other larger toys aren't selling.

I would like to see what possible fan-modes are possible with this guy. I'm somewhat disappointed that with all the years and engineering, that a 2-foot citybot couldn't have a more intricate transformation other than "giant robot does ballet stretches". welcome to the wonderful world of buying TFs in the UK. The Japanese version is only a fiver more though, and that's about in line with the conversion from US dollars to pounds, and avoids excessive shipping and customs fees. If we get some decent pics of that version soon, I might throw down the cash (some 3-4months before getting it, may I remind you all) and pre-order from Kapow.

Wow he looks awesome,, stickers are always fun lol.... since he is so big and massive,,, maybe Scamper will be a deluxe size figure? I'm not sure where have I read that he would be a deluxe figure but this was about 2 month ago so who knows.

Also I have already pre-ordered TG23 Metroplex (Takara Import Version) from BBTS for $229 and will arrive in September, but how come the Hasbro version is out there for pre-order already and BBTS will not even offer the option to pre-order the hasbro version,,, maybe they want to get all the $$$ they can from TG23 Metroplex Takara first before they offer the Hasbro version on their website ???,,, but Robotkingdom.com has it on pre-order already for $169.90 Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (35)

After seeing these pictures,,, he looks just like the Takara version (or at least the pictures I have seen of it), if he does then I will only get the Hasbro Metroplex instead of the Takara,,,, what do you guys think,,, should I get the Hasbro or the Takara version of Metroplex ???

My main gripe deals with the hands. We've seen enough Transformers by now to know that it isn't that hard to hide hands. Maybe have the arms slide down to cover them, or a panel open up to have the hands slide into... something.

At the very least, make the hands detachable like the G1 version.

With the hands being visible, it totally messes up the right arm in city mode so that it can't even become a tower.

I actually LIKE to display my citibots in city mode (so I can show off my smaller TFs), but this one is going to have to be displayed in battle station mode so I can hide the hands from sight. And that's a shame. If one goes on clearance (ha!), I might just have to buy an extra and chop the hands off.

That packaging inside the box: wow! One step up from air-dropping them into stores. Without parachutes.

So Takara's version comes with two of those awesome guns. If they give Scamper a black head then they'll be the winner.

Stickers?

Seriously?

Oh, HasTak, that is pathetic.

Water-slide transfers maybe (and even then only on a model kit) but STICKERS?

Those papery f*ckers are the bane of my existence. If I had it my way, stickers would be banned from use on toys. One of my biggest complaints with the G1 toys (aside from piss-poor articulation, silly designs, over-reliance on partsforming, rubber tires and dreadful scale issues) was the use of stickers. I was hoping they had abandoned this ridiculous, outdated practice and given him tampographs, but noooooooooooooooo...

That aside, AWESOME. Although I might just paint on the details and spare myself the grief of peeling stickers.

To be fair, with a Transformer toy of this caliber, just painting the stuff on there would make it even more expensive. Printing out the details in stickers would keep costs low.

Maybe Takara will tampo them on.

I like it but I have to admit...I am not sure this is the version we will be getting in stores. The stickers are in japanese. And stickers are kinda new for Hasbro at this point. The last time a transformer had stickers was the SDCC Optimus Prime from Dark of the Moon. And he came with g1 style stickers. I'm inclined to think this may be the SDCC version and they are doing the same gimmick. But the box doesn't have the typically SDCC thing. So I'm not sure. Just..something seems off about this.

I'm pretty sure it's intended to be Cybertronian script, even if it is really just Japanese in a funny font. Pictorial Review: Transformers Generations Titan Class Metroplex with Scamper (42) The instruction manual is clearly Thrilling 30 and it lays out where the stickers are to go, I've got no doubts that this is the regular retail version.
