CUT at 45 Park Lane

45 Park Lane, London W1K 1PN

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (16)

This fantastically contemporary space offers a wonderful atmosphere with a great central location. CUT at 45 Park Lane is situated in the heart of the hotel and offers dreamy views of Hyde Park. The interior is a blend of raw woods and contemporary design. Its decor also boasts quite a few of Damien Hirst’s Diamond Dust Psalms serieson display.

The atmosphere here is top-notch and we can honestly say that CUT at 45 Park Lane offers some of the best steaks in the whole of London. The restaurant offers the finest selection of Wagyu beef available in the capital and each cut is expertly seared to perfection.

Should you be an avid meat-lover or even have just a mild appreciation for beef, this is a must-try! Beyond the excellent steaks, we also recommend their deliciously succulent pan-roasted lobster.

Hide

85 Piccadilly, London W1J 7NB

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (21)

If you are looking for a completely immersive culinary experience, then Hide in Mayfair is the place for you. Headed up by Michelin-starred chef Ollie Dabbous together with Hedonism Wines, this is where food meets art. Situated in Piccadilly, overlooking Green Park, the space boasts an extravagant usage of natural light. The interior is a unique blend of natural and sculpted – a harmonious space where nature and man are seamlessly intertwined.

What sets Hide apart from other restaurants in Mayfair is the access to Hedonism Wines‘ expansive wine list. Any bottle available at their Mayfair store can be reserved and delivered to the restaurant for your enjoyment during your meal.

Having to choose your favourite dish here is like having to choose your favourite child. Each dish, from the most complex to the simplest is a feast of the senses. The taste combinations are truly explosive and visually it can only be described as fine art. That being said, our favourite dish at Hide has to be the Nest Egg. This version of barbecued lobstermight just be one of the most delicious things you will ever taste!

The Ritz London

150 Piccadilly, St. James’s, London W1J 9BR

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (26)

Without fear of contradiction, it is safe to say that The Ritz Restaurant needs no introduction. Although we all know this is not true, it does, however, feel as if the Ritz is as old as London itself. It is a magnificent space which beckons you back to a bygone era that is so part of our cultural collective consciousness that it is often overlooked when thinking of where to go.

To say that this place is special is an understatement. In fact, it is the only hotel in the world whose name is actually found in the dictionary and has now come to mean expensive and elegant. Founded by Swiss businessman César Ritz, this establishment was created to offer only the best in everything. More than 113 years later and they are still doing just that. The food here is not just great, it is simply perfect!

Head up by Executive Chef John Williams MBE, the restaurant’s offering has gone from strength to strength. Considered ane of the United Kingdom’s top chefs, he harmoniously blends tradition with cutting-edge much like the hotel itself. Recommendations? Well, The Ritz London is an afternoon tea institution and, arguably, serves the best one in London so that is a must. From the menu, we would suggest opting for their signature beef Wellington. This dish is wholesomely and richly delicious and is always perfectly cooked. An absolute must-try!

The Colony Grill Room

8 Balderton St, Brown Hart Gardens, London W1K 6TF, United Kingdom

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (31)

At number 5 on our list of the top restaurants in Mayfair, is The Colony Grill Room. The resident grill room in the heart of Mayfair’s The Beaumont hotel from Head Chef Ben Boeynaems.

Boeynaems’ menu offers his take on the transatlantic favourites the restaurant is known for such as shellfish, grills, steaks and tableside salads, all with a large focus on seasonal and locally sourced, quality ingredients. Dishes include New York shrimp co*cktail; Steak tartare with pickled egg yolk and mushroom ketchup; Monkfish Wellington with braised salsify, pressed potato and hen of the wood; South Coast Dover Sole with miso brown butter and hayselden’s potatoes and not forgetting the restaurant’s signature Suffolk wagyu rib eye, Native breed Hanger steak, New York Strip and Tomahawk grills, paired with sauces and sides of your choosing.

These dishes are served within a beautifully refreshed, glamorous grill room with a clubby 1920s New York feel, and walls now adorned with striking large-scale murals and maximalist artworks, alongside selected wines from Sommelier Giorgio Scavarelli.

Amazónico

10 Berkeley Square, London W1J 6BR

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (36)

If an immersive restaurant with an unmistakably distinctive atmosphere is what you are looking for then Amazónico is the go-to place for you. Situated in Berkeley Square, this London hot spot has established itself as one of the restaurants firmly cemented on the ‘it’ crowd’s regular circuit.

Launched in 2010 by the husband and wife team and renowned restauranteurs, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, the original Amazónico in Madrid became so popular that the duo soon launched Amazónico London. Inspired by the Amazon region, the restaurant goes beyond simply catering for taste but manages to skillfully serve all of the senses. From its visually striking ambience and legendary co*cktails to the exceptional dishes, it is no wonder that Amazónico is not known as a space for a ‘quick pop in’ but rather a place to linger and indulge.

With a menu meticulously crafted by Executive Chef Vitelio Reyes, each dish is a sensory journey through Latin America. We highly recommend the fabulous Merluza Negra, which consists of Chilean bass, apple and fennel purée, completed with pickled grapes.

For meat lovers, the perfect choice would be the Costilla Huacatay, which includes a mouth-watering 300-gram Back mint marinated lamb chops. To finish off, the Piña Rostizada is the perfect end to any meal. Consisting of roasted caramel glazed pineapple, corn cake and coconut sorbet, it is in itself a reason to dine out.

Sparrow Italia

Modern Italian & Mediterranean restaurant Sparrow officially opened its doors in the heart of Mayfair on Tuesday 18th October 2022.

The Grill At The Dorchester

The Dorchester, Park Lane, London W1K 1QA

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (45)

Another great British institution is the Grill At The Dorchester. Having been around since 1931, this is one of the restaurants in Mayfair that has continuously been at the forefront of culinary innovation.

The Grill At The Dorchester offers an elegant yet not imposing dining environment. It holds a fine balance between refined and laid-back. With its pivoting wall panels, the restaurant can create a different feel from day to night.

Their contentious effort to stay fresh and cutting-edge has seen the recent appointment of the very young Tom Booton as head chef. At just 26 years old, he has managed to become the youngest head chef in the hotel’s history. The food here is excellent with the Gemellini pasta with mushrooms, parsley and black pepper being our favourite thing on the menu. It’s warm, and tasty and is the kind of dish you can have over and over again.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill

11-15 SWALLOW STREET, London W1B 4DG

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (46)

The iconic seafood favourite Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill has been satisfying London residents’ seafood cravings for over 102 years now. Although its popularity has come and gone over the last century, following the appointment of its current chef, they have once again risen to the top… where they most certainly belong.

Under the charge of Michelin star Chef Richard Corrigan, for the past 12 years, Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill has re-branded itself and created a menu that is to die for! Although they serve some great steaks, sourced from around the British & Irish Isles, their seafood is the must-try.

Everything on the menu is fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant also offers cooking classes as well as events so it is worth keeping an eye open for those as well. Another great offering is their Oyster Masterclasses. At Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, they shuck nearly 1,000 oysters a day so there is no better place to learn.

One of the things we love most about this place is its generous portions. This is not a place where you will walk away half-full. Everything here is delicious but the hint to our top pick is in the name… oysters. Some of the best available in the whole of London.

Bombay Bustle Modern Indian Restaurant

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (51)

Making our list of the top Restaurants in Mayfair, Bombay Bustle Modern Indian Restaurant also makes the list as one of the best spots for Indian food in London. Inspired by the city of Mumbai, the restaurant is a great place for the adventurous palate.

The menu offers a melting pot of cuisine and sub-cultural influences from all of the far-reaching corners of India. It brings together the most well-loved dishes found in the city with age-old family recipes, resulting in a homely and authentic taste.

Recently Bombay Bustle Modern Indian Restaurant has a new and unique offer; the all-day Sunday brunch. Created by Executive Chef Surender Mohan, this unique take on Sunday brunch includes Samosas, Dosas and mimosas. Quite catchy eh?

34 Mayfair

4 Grosvenor Square, S Audley St, Mayfair, London W1K 2HD

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (56)

Right in the heart of Mayfair sits an elegant mix of the old world and the new world. The decor consists of parquet wood floors, soft lighting and a bright contemporary design. A rich eclectic style that would not be out of place in New York’s Upper East Side.

34 Mayfair’s menu is equally eclectic. With Head Chef Harvey Ayliffe at the helm, the restaurant offers great steak, fish and seasonal game. Now, when we say steak we mean steak! On top of an already impressive selection of cuts, 34 Mayfair also boasts pure heritage breeds from the Yorkshire Dales and A5 Japanese Wagyu as part of this selection.

The restaurant is without a doubt what you would expect from a high-end grill. From its succulent meats, and surprisingly (from a grill) delicious vegetarian dishes, to its chic decor and atmosphere, this is a great place that ticks all of the right boxes.

Ristorante Frescobaldi London

15 New Burlington Place, Mayfair, London W1S 2HX

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (61)

The Frescobaldi family needs absolutely no introduction. Although they have a prominent history in Tuscany (not many families can claim to have traded wine for works of art with Michelangelo himself), their history with England is equally impressive. The family started to trade in England by supplying our Kings with wine from as far back as Henry VIII.

Now, the Ristorante Frescobaldi London offers the first standalone restaurant and bar in the UK from the famed Frescobaldi family. It goes without saying that the wine list here is absolutely wonderful but the food is assolutamente delizioso!

The menu at Ristorante Frescobaldi London is a celebration of all things Italian. With influences from Northern Italy to the Southern regions such as Puglia, all influencing its offering of authentic Tuscan food. With the pasta being handmade by their chefs dailyand the kitchen only using the best seasonal ingredients, you can expect an ever-changing menu that continually offers the best in Italian cuisine.

Galvin at the Athenaeum

116 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London W1J 7BJ

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (66)

No list of the top restaurants in Mayfair could be complete without mentioning Galvin at the Athenaeum. This fantastic eatery was not founded by one but by two Michelin-starred London chefs.

Although the famed Michelin siblings (if we can take the liberty of coining a new term) Chris and Jeff Galvin first gained prominence for their trademark French-inspired menus. But much like the nation has been trying to do with BREXIT, they have broken away from the continent and looked inward.

Galvin At The Athenaeum is a celebration and exploration of British cuisine. This also means that they use only the best homegrown produce and support independent farmers throughout the UK. They serve a fantastic afternoon tea and have a wonderful co*cktail selection.

Corrigan’s Mayfair

28 Upper Grosvenor St, Mayfair, London W1K 7EH

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (71)

Staying on the theme of British cuisine, another exceptional pick from the endless list of restaurants in Mayfair is Corrigan’s Mayfair. Although focusing on quintessentially British dishes, this eatery also incorporates Irish cuisine into the mix.

With Irish-born Richard Corrigan as head chef, the menu is a blend between down-to-earth ‘real -back home cooking and luxurious refinement. This theme has been pulled through to the decor as well. It is a place where the countryside meets country clubs. A homely yet elegant space that feels welcoming and warm from the moment you set foot through the doors.

Corrigan’s Mayfair is all about sustainability. “Eating today and thinking about tomorrow, Game certainly, but also foraged vegetables, organic fruits and sustainable fish.” the chef explained in his vision of the restaurant. As the holder of 3 AA Rosettes and awarded London Restaurant of the Year by the Evening Standard, you can be sure to get your money’s worth here. As a special treat, we would suggest trying the Seasonal Set Menu. This menu is subject to change and the availability of freshly sourced products but is always an indulgence in British and Irish culinary excellence.

This small and intimate restaurant is the ultimate spot for a romantic date. With a limited number of seating available, warm green and dark red tones create a cosy atmosphere that will make you forget you are in the heart of London altogether.

The menu at Kitty Fisher’s is stripped back and allows for the delicate taste of the creations to speak for themselves.

They also offer a great selection of co*cktails and is the kind of place to sit and chat for hours on end. Due to its limited size and popularity, it is advised to book a table in advance.

The Araki

12 New Burlington St, Mayfair, London W1S 3BF

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (81)

The thing about eating at a Michelin-star chef’s restaurant is that they very rarely cook your plate from start to finish themselves. In fact, most of the time, they simply oversee and guide the other chefs to create the perfect dish. At The Araki this is not the case. Here you are guaranteed that it is all prepared by the award-winning chef himself.

Back in Ginza, Tokyo, Mitsuhiro Araki boasted three Michelin stars at his famed restaurant. Then in 2014, the Chef closed his restaurant and located in London to create a truly exceptional space.

Regarded as one of the top “experience” restaurants in Mayfair, The Araki is a must-visit for any and all sushi lovers. “The restaurant brings London the opportunity to experience world-renowned “Edomae Sushi” (authentically style originally invented circa 200 years ago in former Tokyo) using locally sourced ingredients, prepared and served by Mr Araki himself according to the historic tradition of “Sado (Tea Ceremony)” hospitality.” This experience is certainly not on the cheap side but is an immersive one from start to finish.

Jamavar

8 Mount St, Mayfair, London W1K 3N

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (82)

Jamavar is easily rated as one of the best Indian restaurants in Mayfair. This Michelin-starred Indian restaurant is situated on the ever-popular Mount street and has been wowing crowds with its authentic taste since it opened back in December 2016.

Founded and run by Samyukta Nair and her father, Dinesh, Jamavar might be the first overseas branch of the restaurant but is the 6th restaurant owned by The Leela Palaces, a group of luxury hotels located all throughout India. The interior of Jamavar London celebrates the age-old relationship between Britain and India.

With its decor based on the style of the Viceroy’s house of New Delhi, the colonial blend between East and West creates an other-worldly atmosphere. Transporting its clientele to a world miles away.

The food here is simply spectacular. With dishes selected and curated by Executive Chef Surender Mohan, the food takes you on a journey throughout the far-reaching areas of India. From the rich and vibrant flavours influenced by the Royal Kitchens of the North to the succulent dishes from the Southern shores, Jamavar is a place to indulge and escape.

Sexy Fish

Berkeley Square House, Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London W1J 6BR

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (87)

It is no surprise that Sexy Fish has established itself, and has kept the title as one of the premier Asian restaurants in Mayfair. It is more than a place with incredible food, it is an experience, and without trying to sound too lame, a happening.

The design and layout are the results of Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and mid-century glamour indulgence. If you’re looking for the ultimate Instagram-friendly restaurant in London then this is it. With endless focal points and fantastical decor, it is a wonderful and quirky place to get lost in.

With everything cooked on a Robata grill, Sexy Fish creates some of the most delicious Japanese-inspired sushi, sashimi, seafood, fish and meataround. The restaurant is open seven days a week and has a resident DJ on the decks from Wednesday evening through to Sunday, during brunch and dinner.

The most incredible area in Sexy Fish would have to be the Coral Reef Room, which is located on the lower ground floor and houses two of the largest live coral reef tanks in the world. Our second favourite spot here has to be the bar where they boast the world’s biggest Japanese whisky collection.

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (92)

Another of the great seafood restaurants in Mayfair is Scott’s. Although the restaurant’s reputation dwindled a little a while ago, new management dragged it right back to the top once more.

With impeccable service and some of the best seafood available in London, Scott’s is once again a place to be seen at. Offering great terrace dining and a wonderful selection of co*cktails, this is a fantastic spot to spend the afternoon.

Although they have an impressive reputation for their excellent traditional fish and shellfish dishes, Scott’s also has a great selection of seasonal game and meat. Having oysters at the champagne bar is most certainly a must-try as is having caviar served here – one of their specialities.

Bellamy’s

18 Bruton Pl, Mayfair, London W1J 6LY

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (97)

We can categorically say that Bellamy’s is one of our favourite restaurants in Mayfair. Oh, let’s be honest, in the whole of London. It is the kind of place where you see regular faces week by week. A little like Cheers… if the bar was a fabulous brasserie and all of the patrons were Dr Frasier Crane.

It is deliciously elegant and sophisticated without taking itself too seriously. It has the feeling of a London Member’s club just without the founder’s oil paintings and membership fee. The reason for this might be because of the management. The former Managing Director of the Annabel’s Group, Gavin Rankin, has brought a bit of Annabel’s magic with him. Not just in atmosphere and culture but in staff as well. Both Chef Stéphane Pacoud and Manager Luigi Burgio were originally at Annabel’s.

The perfect atmosphere is matched by the exceptional quality level of the food. Bellamy holds to its core the Franco-Belgian tradition of the brasserie. It is a fabulous spot with excellent food and a wonderful French wine list. One of our favourite features of the restaurant is its Oyster and Sandwich Bar that is open during the day – the Crab and Avocado sandwich is to die for! We simply cannot recommend Bellamy’s enough.

Le Gavroche

43 Upper Brook St, Mayfair, London W1K 7QR

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (102)

Making our list of the top restaurants in Mayfair, one spot was immediately reserved for Le Gavroche. Although this famed go-to restaurant’s exceptional food guarantees it an automatic place on our list, it has another quality that sets it apart from all other restaurants in London.

China Tang At The Dorchester

Top 28 Restaurants In Mayfair – The Ultimate Restaurant Guide (107)

This is a bold statement, but China Tang At The Dorchester might just be the best Chinese restaurant in London. This, one of our favourite eateries in Mayfair, serves arguably the most authentic Cantonese cuisine outside of the Far East.

The legend Sir David Tang has created a world that transports its clientele to fabulous pre-war Shanghai. With plush interiors and quirky “objets d’arts” hidden like Easter eggs throughout the restaurant, he has conjured up a wonderland that makes you forget where you are.

The food at China Tang At The Dorchester is beyond top-notch and offers authentic Cantonese recipes and flavours with fantastic style and flair. The vegetarian Chinese classic Ma Po Tofu is beyond delicious but the top spot has to go to the Peking Duck. Possibly the best Pecking Duck… ever! An absolute must-try.
