Juicy homemade wontons are easier to make than you think, and they taste better than the store-bought ones!

It consists of :

  • ground pork,
  • green onions,
  • ginger,
  • soy sauce,
  • sesame oil,
  • wrappers.

What is the calories?

The calories are around 178 per 4 wontons with broth. It is healthy that you can add whatever veggies your heart desires – or simply whatever is in your fridge.

How to make wonton soup?

  1. Bring broth to a boil.
  2. Add in wontons simmer 4-6 minutes, once they are floating on the soup, add seasonings.
  3. Cover and simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Sparking sliced green onions.

How To Make Keto Wonton Soup?

  • After you prepare the wonton filling, do not fold it on the wrappers.
  • Use a spoon to form small balls and drop them into the boiling broth.
  • When the broth is boiling, drop 1 tablespoon large meatballs of the pork mixture into the broth.
  • Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add bok choy. Simmer for an additional 1 minute.
  • Season with salt and pepper and sliced green onion. Serve and enjoy!
  • For my version, I add some shirataki noodles (Pasta Zero) which are low carb and low calorie. This way I can make my keto, gluten-free, Whole30, and Paleo dinner.

Wonton soup is a classic Chinese cuisine. Wonton soup recipe usually filled with pork, green onions, and seasonings. They can be cooked as wonton egg drop soup or broth and put any vegetables as you wish.

Ingredients

Wonton Filling:

  • 8 ounces ground pork
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 40 wonton wrappers
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons seame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine, sherry wine

Broth:

  • 8 cups chicken broth

Seasonings:

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • a pinch of white pepper
  • salt

Instructions

Wonton:

  • In a large bowl combine the seasonings to the ground meat and stir until the meat is sticky.

  • Then add the chopped green onion and mix well.

  • Prepare a small bowl with water.

  • Sprinkle a little flour on a baking tray. So the wontons won't stick on the baking tray.

  • Dip your finger in water and run it around the edge of HALF the wrapper. Then fold in half to create a triangle.
